If Very Fishy and The Swim Team had a baby, this would be it. The Lady in Red series is a mash-up of emotions and ideas that found harmony on the canvas. The red reflects my inner unrest over inequality, a quiet defiance that never quite fades. The frills speak to my femininity, but without the labels or expectations attached. The water ties it all back to my life on the Mornington Peninsula, my need to be near it, to let it calm that inner turmoil. And the goggles? They’re simply for fun because honestly, it’s not hard to feel so much joy when you live by the water. This series brings all those worlds together, thoughtful, fiery, playful and was an absolute joy to create.
