My Process

I've always been an ideas person—my brain never stops. Perhaps that's why I spent much of my career in advertising. My artwork always starts with a concept, leaping from my mind onto paper, sometimes even in the middle of the night. After a few initial sketches, I create a mood board that might include acrylic styles, photography, fabrics, pastels, or watercolours to get a sense of the colours and textures I want to achieve.

Next, I transfer these ideas into Adobe Fresco or Illustrator, essentially sketching onto my screen instead of paper. Layer by layer, I build my piece to reflect the image in my head. Finally, I take the piece into Photoshop to add textures and 'imperfections' that blur the lines between traditional and digital, giving my work what I like to call its 'gritty feel' and reflecting my artistic vision.

Digital art can be difficult to explain, as it often evokes thoughts of 'quick art,' but I put 'very long hours' into each piece and I've spent decades building and refining my unique skill set as a Creative Director to achieve the finished pieces I imagine. I see technology as just another tool in an artist's toolbox, and I get excited about what the future holds as technology continues to evolve.

My artworks are limited edition runs, printed and framed by a small, family-run business that takes pride in each piece.
